Erin Faith Allen

Moving through the world with a rare form of synesthesia, I experience life on a supernatural level.  Making art helps me process my existence with it’s richly cascading and intertwining sounds, textures, and colors.
I incorporate mythology, symbolism, and anatomy with multiple layers of mixed media technique and materials to express my perception of the world … sometimes light and delicate, sometimes overwhelming and intense.
My art carries themes of ancestral lineage, mothering, collective female experience, traumatic memory, and the choice each day presents:  do we exist solely within our personal tragedies or do we weave life from a place of empowered wisdom?
In my artwork lies the dance between these choices; the spectrum of living includes both.
We must know our depths to know our heights: we must howl in wild stark exposure at the moon in order to know true bliss in the glow of sun.
In 2015 I will begin releasing a collection of short documentary films peeking into the inner world of artists.
I teach mixed media art workshops and organize artist retreats in international locations.
Who looks outside, dreams … who looks inside, awakes. ~ Carl Jung

BIO

For almost a decade I didn’t pick up a brush. My fingers didn’t touch paint. Art school had burned me out but as time passed, I felt that something was missing. I just didn’t know it was Art yet.
I started blogging in 2006, shortly after having my first daughter. So, I kinda HAD to figure out photography. It was never my strength or even an interest of mine yet I persevered. After many, many failed attempts, I finally honed my skills and fell deeply in love with taking pictures – which was pretty handy and contributed to the success of my online antique store and blog.
Soon, I was deep into the creative online community. I felt so welcomed. So at home. I started taking online art classes. Ahh! This is what was missing. I couldn’t stop making Art. Painting, collage, sketching, creating digital illustrations. I felt alive again. Truly inspired.

I have explored many mediums and continue to experiment today. I do mostly feminine figurative and portrait work, however I have been commissioned to do abstract and landscape work.

My art doesn’t have boundaries or constraints – I go where it leads me.

I dabble. I obsess. I explore. I play. I break the rules I learned in school! ;)

Sharing my creative process, I hope to encourage others to reconnect to their creativity and begin (or continue) down a path towards wholeness and fulfillment.
Together, I hope we can expand our definitions of self, be fearless in our creating and have faith that there is no wrong way to make ART.

Danielle Donaldson

Danielle Donaldson is a mixed-media artist and illustrator. She is always scheming up new ways to infuse her love of watercolors and other mediums with as much color as possible. Danielle's art always tells a story without words through her use of color, depth and light. Some say it's whimsical; she says it's fanciful with a smidge of sassy.  Danielle is the author of 'creativeGIRL: mixed media projects for an artful life' which contains a plethora of goodness about her art and process. In her free time, you can find her in 'the dorm room' playing with art supplies and imagining up new creative stuff to share.

Crystal Neubauer

Bio:
Regardless of the media I include, my work always comes down to collage. Whether rendered in a 3-dimensional assemblage fashion, or a 2-D picture plane, my fascination begins with found papers. I see these items as a metaphor for our own lives, and seek to bring them together in a way that opens the viewer to a deeper experience of an overarching theme of personal redemption – where every part of who you are is embraced and nurtured. I call my process intuitive, but it all boils down to learning to trust and open oneself to the voice inside; the one that can guide creative decisions and bring about a much richer work of art then what skilled technique alone can do.

From obtaining gallery representation, to writing a book (The Art of Expressive Collage: Techniques for Creating with Paper and Glue; North Light Books, Summer 2015), to teaching workshops nationwide, and opening a studio, learning to tune in to the voice within has led me on a journey of learning “I can”. Join me for an “I can” experience of your own as you learn to tune in to the creative flow while identifying the negative messages and fears that stop you. Find my work on my website, and more about the process, techniques, and my life on the blog.

Kate Thompson

Kate's experience as a fiber artist was working with fabric and fiber to create abstract 3-dimensional forms. In 2009 she started painting and hasn't stopped since. Her current work is the combination of the two disciplines. Using watercolors, acrylics, inks and pastels she paints on substrates such as layered vintage linens, fabrics, laces, plaster, paper and wood. The portrait or figure is the focal point and she works at creating images that parallel her spiritual and personal life.
She teaches art online and on location. She is as passionate about teaching as she is creating. The creative process is where all the energy is and she loves and gets energized by sharing her artistic journey. She interacts one on one  with the students to help them create art they love using her techniques but encourages them to find their own particular style within the project. Not one student project looks alike which makes the class so full of stimulation and diversity.

Junelle Jacobsen

I am Yes and Amen, Junelle Jacobsen ~ avid photojournalist | prolific sketcher | wild art teacher and mentor | mum of boy-men | nun-in-disguise | lover of the sheep.
I am a passionate advocate for playful curiosity and living life through daily adventures ~ to see, to experience, to understand and then share the goodness that abounds in this life.  It doesn’t matter if it is sketching, smearing gesso, shooting photographs, biking or hiking, writing prose, or sharing a cup of coffee and a heart felt verse...whatever helps to see the world anew everyday -- that is a gift, a daily blessing.
A huge part of that is learning to live life with open & unclenched hands, to follow the divine path wherever it takes me, and remembering to have a bag packed for what’s coming next.  I choose to live life with a “Yes” on my lips, a welcoming heart for new friends, and that *adventure* word scribbled at the top of every day’s list.

Jeanne Oliver

Jeanne Oliver grew up watching old movies and was inspired by the styles and femininity of the past. Nothing seemed more glamorous to her than Vivien Leigh sweeping down a staircase, Grace Kelly wearing white gloves with a black cocktail dress or Audrey Hepburn outside of Tiffany's. Hours were spent designing her own creations and dreaming of wearing all the apparel her fingers could sketch. Today Jeanne has the honor of offering collections of her clothing, bags, art, jewelry and vintage pieces that tell a story. It is such a privilege to be a stay at home mom and also have the opportunities to create, teach and sell her creations. She is just a girl that finally started listening to the creative whispers that had been there all along.

Please visit Jeanne here to see more of her work and to read her wonderful blog.

Stephanie Lee

A modern day expeditioner, I practice my own version of archeology, scanning the terrain for intriguing bits and pieces that present themselves. I am most inspired by nature and its melodic effects on the human spirit with my intention being to offer a simple, yet organic, approach to viewers in my work. Passionate about repurposing everyday objects, I am committed to reinventing normal into something eclectic, expressive, lighthearted and potentially spiritually stimulating all at once.
Having traveled all over the United States and internationally to offer creative instruction, I find respite in my home studio in the valleys of Southern Oregon where I work from home - continually influenced by the view out my studio windows, witty comments from my young daughters, and the ebb and flow of creative energy. My own book featuring my found object jewelry titled "Semiprecious Salvage" arrived in bookstores February 2008.
